David Vanderoost, CEO.
David joined Approach in 2011 and was appointed a Board member in 2012 and CEO in 2015.
Prior to his leadership position at Approach, David worked for various global Management Consulting companies, including KPMG and Accenture. He was involved in various complex, cross-border IT transformation programmes in various industries, such as the Financial Services, Public Sector, Retail and Telecoms.
As former security consultant for Proximus/Telindus and deputy CISO of Carrefour Group, David also has a strong background in cyber security.
Passionate about cryptography and electronics, David wrote his Master’s Thesis on smartcard security and side‑channel attacks.
David holds an MSc in Electromechanical Engineering and an Executive Master’s degree in ICT Audit & Security. David is a certified ICT professional: ICT Auditor (CISA certification from the ISACA), Security Auditor (ISO 27001 Lead Auditor) and ITIL (best practices in IT Service Management).
Lionel de Wasseige, COO.
Lionel joined Approach in 2012 as Business Development Director. In 2015, he was appointed Consulting Director, with responsibility for leading the growth of Approach by deploying the existing Cyber security Services portfolio and overseeing the diversification of this portfolio.
Prior to his appointment at Approach, Lionel had gained over 15 years of experience in Consulting and Business Development with major consulting companies (Cap Gemini, CSC and Altran). He was head of CRM at STIB/MIVB and Senior Business Manager for the Insurance, Finance, Telecoms and Media sectors at Altran.
Lionel developed his interest in cybersecurity while working for Belnet (Cert.be) as a Consultant. For the past 10 years, he has served his customers by bringing them innovative solutions to meet their cyber security challenges.
Lionel holds an MSc in Economics from the University of Namur and an Executive Master’s degree in Management from ULB (Solvay).
Laurent Deheyer, GRC Consulting Director.
Laurent is responsible for the Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC) Consulting Practice.
Prior to that, Laurent held several positions such as Security Officer, Strategic Adviser for large customers, as well as a Management role at Hewlett Packard Enterprise.
Laurent has worked in Information Security and Risk Management for the past 17 years. He aims to help organisations align information security to their business strategy, maximising their security investment and enabling them in the digital age.
He holds an MSc in Electronics communication, a CISM from ISACA and ISO27001 Lead Auditor & Lead Implementer certificates. Laurent is a Certified DPO and is currently studying for a Master’s degree in Cyber security at Solvay Business School.
Eric Bariaux, Secure Delivery Director.
Having worked as senior developer, software architect and team leader for customers in the financial, insurance and telecommunication sector, as well as on Internet of Things and Smart Cities solutions, Eric joined Approach in 2017.
As Secure Delivery Director, Eric focuses on bringing cyber security best practices to all aspects of the software development lifecycle. He leads a team of highly qualified experts in providing secure, end‑to‑end solutions to high‑profile organisations.
Eric has 20+ years of experience in secure software delivery. He has held various team leader positions at Scorpio and Capco and is the founder of TInSys, a mobile software development company, now part of Approach.
Eric holds an MSc in Computer Science from Université Libre de Bruxelles.
Cédric Dubois, Secure Delivery Director.
Cédric joined the Secure Delivery Practice of Approach in 2018 to advise our customers with the adoption of digital identity and trust services, such as electronic signatures. Cédric also coordinates Approach’s consulting & development services portfolio, with strong focus on Secure Application Development.
Cédric spent the first 20 years of his career in the telecoms, finance and security industries. At Lucent Technologies and Proximus, he explored the various aspects of software development by playing the roles of developer, analyst, pre-sales engineer and delivery manager. While at Isabel Group, he worked as security product manager and then headed the engineering team in charge of the Isabel Public Key Infrastructure, IAM solutions and fraud prevention.
Cédric holds an MSc in Electrical Engineering from Université Catholique de Louvain and a Master’s degree in Finance from Ichec Brussels Management School. He has also completed the IT Management programme in Information Security at Solvay Business School and subsequently obtained CISSP certification from (ICS)2.
Marc Stern, Cyber Security Consulting Director.
Marc has worked as a Cyber Security expert for more than 25 years and has an impressive personal track record in Public Key Infrastructures and smart card-based systems for eID applications. He is also one of the European leaders in the field of Web application security.
Following his role as Lead Architect for the Belgian electronic identity card (e‑ID), Marc became Architect and Lead of the Security Group for the STORK project, establishing a European eID Interoperability Platform that will enable citizens to establish new e‑relations across borders.
Prior to his position at Approach, Marc led the Security Service Line at DXC (formerly know as CSC). He was also a Software Engineer at Philips and Texas Instruments.
Marc holds an MSc in Electromechanical Engineering. He is a certified ICT professional: Cyber-Security Manager (ISO27032 Lead Cyber security Manager), Security Auditor (ISO 27001 Lead Auditor) and ITIL, Risk Manager (CRISC from the ISACA).
Anne Duchesne, Marketing Manager
Anne joined Approach in 2017 as Marketing Manager, with the challenge of increasing the visibility of Approach expertise within the cyber‑security market. Her work involves helping organisations with a security need to reach out to Approach more easily, as well as to better understand our service offering and methodology and to obtain initial opinions from Approach specialists about security threats.
Passionate about marketing strategy for more than 15 years, Anne focuses on client needs, market trends and threats in order to define marketing priorities and to draw up a communication plan with genuinely valuable content for the Approach community.
Anne holds a Master’s degree in Business from the HEC Management School in Liège.
